Dear Shay -

My neighbor across the street had put his cat out when he got a dog. I felt sorry for the cat and began to feed it. After a few weeks I decided to take it in. By the third day, he began making wrecks throughout my home. Being very demanding and wanting constant attention, when I was busy doing something, he'd get busy destroying whatever was closest. I put him outside a couple of hours ago. I feel awful. I was thanking God for this new companion, and now I feel like a failure. I'm afraid God might be angry. I already told Him I was sorry, I should've known better, but I still feel bad. Could you speak with Him?

I could speak to him for you, but that would not be nearly as effective as you doing it yourself.   However, I'm well aware that a lot of people aren't properly versed in the art of prayer.  So, for you and for everyone else that feels like their communication with God is lacking, I'm going to outline a few pointers on deep prayer to God.

There are two ways to pray to God.   The first way is to ask for God's love and forgiveness.  The second way is to pray for someone else who needs God's love and forgiveness.  Both ways are equally important because everybody needs God's love, not just you.  We give love to God by praying for ourselves and other people.  All God wants is for us to love each other, because, as his children, when we love each other, we are loving the one who created us, our Father/Mother.
