Dear Shay -
Why does God use Angels to do miracles?
Your question needs to be answered in three parts because, essentially, it is a three part question: 1)Why did God create angels? 2)Why does God do miracles? 3)How do angels end up helping with the miracles?
The typical answer to the first question is to say that God needed servants to do his bidding. It makes sense, but I don’t like it for many reasons. Why would an omnipotent being even need to bother with servants? So, I tend to ascribe to a different theory. My theory is that God created angels so he would have more beings to love. I believe this holds true to any species of being in existence. However, I believe that due to the way that God created angels, they are literally compelled to help with his miracles.
Why do angels help with the miracles? They’re compelled to. I don’t know if you have a hobby or a profession that you are totally in to, but when you are obsessed with something, its like you have to do it all the time and you can never get enough of it. Like basketball players who never leave the gym or guys who can’t stop working on their cars, it’s just a part of them. They were created with the need to serve God. Angels can’t help themselves. When they have to help, they help. Its how God made them.
God does miracles because he wants us to understand that he loves us. I get that belief mainly from my understanding of Jesus Christ, but any positively minded individual would probably tell you the same thing. This world is pretty scary sometimes and the miracles help to assure us that this world is not the “end all be all” of existence. They’re to give us hope and to show us the way home. For most of us, while we’re on this planet, we’re separated from God’s complete love. The miracles help to give us hope and to make us understand that death isn’t really death, but just a transition.
