Dear Shay,

I'm alone and I don't know what to do with my life. I look for the right man, but I haven't met him yet. I only have my dog, Strauss.

 Summer of ’99….I had been through several relationships during the last few years, and I finally thought I was ready for THE relationship, THE woman.  I felt like I had completely nailed down what kind of Love I was looking for….so I started praying IN EARNEST.  Every day I would spend time meditating and praying, asking the Lord to show me the woman I was meant to be with.  All I wanted was the OPPORTUNITY….because the Lord gives the opportunities, but its up to us to jump on them.  And then, one day at a friend’s birthday dinner, she was there.  But I didn’t see it at first.  But the Lord kept bringing her into my life, time and again, and every time I saw her I got more and more impressed until finally I couldn’t help but make a move.

            Now, 26 months later, we’re shopping for rings.  And the real thing I have learned from this experience so far is:  JUMP ON THE OPPORTUNITIES!  Take advantage of those chances to socialize.  When you see someone you like..LET THEM KNOW IT!  Don’t stand back and expect someone to knock on your door.  GO OUT!!!  Spread some of that Love in your heart…and the right guy will SURELY pick up on that.  And make sure that once you find him, you put out the work required to keep him.  Be LIBERAL with the amount of hugs you give, tell him you Love him as much as possible, and BE HONEST.  Let him know what’s on your mind.  Build that trust!

            And let me tell you something….it all starts with prayer.  Start praying about it!  Ask Jesus for help!  It all starts with prayer.
