The only difference between the two words would be the levels. As I’m sure you’ve already noticed, there are folks who are closer to God than others, and the same goes for metaphysical beings. A being of light would most closely be associated with a soul who is closer to the light than the darkness, that is, a “good” soul. An angel would be a being who is in a different level altogether. Throughout history, many people have claimed to be capable of detailing an “angel hierarchy”, however I claim no such knowledge or even really agree with that concept. I don’t think a “hierarchy” is even necessary. In my opinion, an angel is an angel. They are closer to God than humans, and even closer to God than souls that have BEEN human in their immediately previous lifetime. They’re in a different class altogether. BUT, I also believe that it IS possible for a good soul to progress through the levels enough to where they can become an angel. Progression of souls is very real, and I think you’ll notice that people who believe in it tend to have a much healthier view of life.
BUT, I must tell you that LOTS of people use these two terms interchangeably, since, TECHNICALLY, an angel IS a being of light. However, any positively aligned soul is ALSO a being of light. To be honest, its more of a terminology issue than anything else. In my opinion, Love is Love and beings who spread it are Loving, so no matter how you classify them, they are ALL blessed in the eyes of the Lord.
